Living in the turkey and quail brown part of Texas, it is fascinating to me that such brilliantly colored birds as Lovebirds naturally exist. And that someone actually named them lovebirds! The season of declared love is quickly approaching and so far my only contribution to anything Valentine-ish has been the Cardinal Pair which are quite Christmasy, and the flamingos. But now we have lovebirds. Perfecto. Lovebirds Watercolor Painting on Etsy I finished painting these two lovebirds late last night and they are now leaning against my computer, propped up by the llama, waiting to be scanned for the printmaking process. And here is a photo at the beginning of the painting process, with the lime green seeping into the yellow.

They are jpg files the size of a sheet of copy paper. Teachers, if it looks like something you could use, print them for your whole class. This one ^ is the printable rhyme maze activity sheet. Kids look for words that rhyme with "cat" to help them through the maze. Illustrated with the fuzzy black cat and a few other images from the book. This one ^ is the printable mini book activity sheet. Help kids cut the square along the dotted line and fold it twice to make a book. Then they get to choose what each animal does to create their own story. Print it a few times and create a slightly different story with each one. But most of all, enjoy!
